On the occasion of World Environment Day, we talked in one of our posts what were the characteristics of most of our cartridges that allow reduce water consumption and greater energy savings. One of them is Cold Technology, also known as Cold Open or Cold Start, among other names that vary depending on the faucet manufacturer. Despite what is usually believed, it is not the tap that performs this function, but the cartridge that is housed inside. How does it work? Very easy.
Cold technology
The lever of the faucet is in cold position by default and operated with the handle in the central position, thus avoiding unnecessary use of the heater when daily actions such as brushing teeth or hands are made. Thanks to this small gesture, it is possible to avoid the consumption of energy or the emission of polluting gases and saving up to 10% from the household energy consumption releted to plumbing products.
If you want to use hot water, just turn the handle to the left. The water flow responds quickly and accurately, providing total control of the water temperature and its flow. With this technology, the handle is perfectly aligned with the spout, which improves its aesthetics and benefit the front opening in cold water in a natural way.
