Why Every Faucet and Shower Manufacturer Should Include the Innovative iHandle in Their Product Line

Kitchen faucets and shower outlets have significantly evolved over the last decade. Kitchen faucets now feature technologies like IR and TOF sensors, dual-sense features, filters, and various click mechanisms to enhance usability. Shower outlets, meanwhile, have benefited from improvements in water flow, pressure control and thermostatic cartridges, offering precise temperature control and efficient performance.

However, while high-tech features in kitchen faucets bring benefits like filtered water, exact temperature control, and ECO mode, ensuring these innovations are intuitive and user-friendly is essential. Similarly, modern shower outlets offer advanced features while maintaining the usability user-friendly.

As a high-tech provider for manufacturers, our goal is to ensure that both kitchen faucets and shower outlets are easy to use while incorporating intuitive interfaces and advanced technologies that add value to your product line.

Introducing the iHandle Concept

The iHandle is a user interface developed by Sedal to integrate seamlessly with our iTOP iDC digital cartridge (read more about it in our blog). This technology allows users to control water flow and temperature, providing real-time information on water usage.

We’ve designed a standard interface screen based on the most accepted mechanical interface. Our iHandle takes the classic lever design one step further, offering key information and enhanced user comfort. Using a dot display, icons, and light indicators, the iHandle delivers a faucet that combines beauty with advanced functionality and ease of use.

How the iHandle Works

The iHandle connects to the iDC TOP cartridge, reading the lever’s position and sending the information to the mixing box, which functions like a standard cartridge. The mixing box controls the water mix and sends the information back to the iHandle, displaying the current temperature and flow rate.

iHandle - Sedal's standard technology

For kitchen faucets, the iHandle offers a cold-start default setting, adjustable temperature and flow range, ECO mode, and clicks for specific functions like glass fill (250 ml) and pot fill (1 l). It also includes a boost mode for increased flow. The shower version offers similar features, with the addition of warm-up mode and customized water output for showers.

Standard Functionalities:

  • Glass Fill: Dispenses 250 ml of cold water.
  • Pot Fill: Dispenses 1 l of cold water.
  • ECO Mode: Ensures water flow and temperature are within eco-friendly standards.
  • Boost Mode: Increases flow rate, from 5 l/min to 12 l/min in kitchen faucets and from 12 l/min to 24 l/min in showers.
  • Warm-Up Mode: Preheats the water to a set temperature, stopping the flow until the user is ready.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: The shower iHandle can be connected to Wi-Fi, allowing control via a smartphone.

OEM iHandle Technology with Custom Designs

In addition to our standard version, we offer custom adaptations to fit each manufacturer’s design and functional requirements. From interface shape to icons and features, we collaborate with our customers to create tailored solutions. We can also integrate up to four directional clicks (up, down, left, right) for added functionality.
